Well here we are – the start of the 2013 school year. There have been a few changes here at the Brooke Street campus of Camperdown College. We have a new campus principal (welcome Mrs Hall), a new Prep teacher (welcome Ms Clark) and a new Indonesian teacher (welcome Bu Jenna). Indonesian is a whole new subject for us and we are really looking forward to learning about the language and the culture.
The Year 5 & 6 classes have moved to the new building and the Year 3 & 4 classes to Rooms 7, 8 & 9. Mr Bennett is back in the classroom teaching Years 5&6 and Mrs Nelson is also teaching Years 5&6, along with Ms Norton.
Our first class serial this year is Rowan of Rin by Emily Rodda (one of my favourite authors). In Literacy we are working on writing recounts and answering questions in full sentences. In Maths we are learning about 2D shapes and lines. We have started our swimming program as well as had Library, Science and PE lessons. We have even handed out the first lot of homework for 2013.
It has been a busy start to the year as always and it has been a very positive one, with classes settling in quickly and making a great start on the important learning in Years 5 & 6.
